A knocked-out tooth can be one of the most alarming dental emergencies for both children and parents. At Lil’ Dente, we respond quickly to give your child the best chance of saving their smile. Whether it’s a baby tooth or a permanent one, our expert pediatric dentist provides gentle, urgent dental care in a calm and reassuring environment. We focus on minimizing pain, reducing fear, and preserving the natural tooth whenever possible. Every moment counts, and our pediatric dentist is prepared to act fast with compassion and precision.
A knocked-out tooth, also known as an avulsed tooth, is a dental emergency that demands immediate care. Acting within 30–60 minutes can increase the chance of saving a permanent tooth. For baby teeth, evaluation is important to avoid damage to the developing adult tooth underneath. Quick action and professional care can make all the difference in your child’s long-term oral health.
At Lil’ Dente, we are trained in pediatric dental trauma and provide gentle, effective solutions. We aim to preserve the tooth, prevent infection, and restore comfort, while keeping your child calm and reassured throughout the emergency visit. Our goal is to turn a scary situation into a safe, supportive experience for both kids and parents.

Dr. Naomi became a pediatric dentist and opened Lil' Dente Pediatric Dentistry to make a lasting difference in children's lives. As an undergraduate student at Wellesley College, she volunteered on international dental missions and discovered a deep passion for children's oral health. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania's School of Dental Medicine with two honors - community health and research - and completed her residency in children's dental care at NYU Langone Health in Brooklyn. Before long, she was practicing in Connecticut which is when her dream of Lil' Dente Pediatric Dentistry was born. Our pediatric dentist is specially trained in pediatric dental emergencies, handling both baby and permanent teeth with precision. We use advanced tools, gentle methods, and a calming approach to reduce fear. Families leave with a clear plan, follow-up care, and the support they need.
Dental emergencies require fast action, which is why we offer same-day appointments for avulsed teeth. Our pediatric dentist is prepared to act quickly to improve outcomes. Your child receives immediate, focused care without unnecessary delays.
We specialize in pediatric dental trauma and know how to calm anxious young patients. Gentle techniques and friendly communication help ease fear. Our pediatric dentist is trained to treat both the injury and the emotional stress it causes.
If the knocked-out tooth is a permanent one and still viable, we clean and reposition it safely. Stabilization follows to support healing and function. Our careful handling increases the chances of successful reattachment.
We begin with a gentle examination to assess the extent of the injury and your child’s comfort. Pediatric dental X-rays help us evaluate the socket, tooth viability, and surrounding tissues. A thorough assessment guides the safest and most effective treatment.
After treatment, we provide detailed recovery instructions to promote healing at home. Antibiotics may be prescribed to prevent infection and support recovery. Follow-up visits ensure proper healing and long-term dental health for your child.
If the tooth is a permanent one and still viable, we carefully reinsert and stabilize it. If re-implantation isn’t possible, we clean the area to prevent infection and preserve future tooth development. Every step is done with your child’s comfort in mind.
